The national average has increased 4.0 c/L during the last month and stands 28.8 c/L lower than this day one year ago.

"Even with oil prices jumping more than $4 per barrel compared to last week, average gasoline prices across much of Canada have remained relatively steady, though some provinces saw notable increases," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "British Columbia saw a significant rise in prices, driven by refinery issues on the U.S. West Coast that disrupted supply, while Alberta’s increase was largely tied to the recent surge in oil prices. Most other provinces saw only minor changes. As we approach the Victoria Day long weekend, Canadians may see some localized fluctuations, but at the national level, I don’t expect significant movement in average prices for now."
