SASKATOON - One woman was arrested following an assault at a mall today.
At around 12 p.m. on May 21, police were called to a mall in the 200 block of 1st Avenue Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ¶ÌÊÓÆµ for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers learned that a woman was paying for merchandise at a business in the mall when she was approached by another woman and physically assaulted; the suspect and victim were not known to one another. The suspect then fled the business but was detained by mall security a short time later. She was transferred into the custody of the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) where she continued to be uncooperative throughout her arrest. Upon arrival at SPS Detention, the woman allegedly spit on and bit a Special Constable; the officer was not seriously injured.
As a result, the 22-year-old woman has been charged with assault, assaulting a police officer, and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions.
