WEYBURN – This week, Weyburn is joining communities across the province in celebrating Economic Development Week, running from May 12 to 17.

The Weyburn Regional Economic Development (WRED) office is highlighting the crucial role that economic development plays in building a resilient and thriving community.

“Economic development is more than attracting new businesses—it’s about supporting entrepreneurship, encouraging innovation, helping existing businesses expand, and making Weyburn an attractive place to live, work, invest, and visit. It means creating the conditions for sustainable growth, high-quality jobs, and a strong quality of life for all residents,” said a WRED in a media release.

WRED's initiatives aim to foster sustainable growth and improve quality of life through a variety of services and resources. These are tailored to support investors, entrepreneurs, new residents, and organizations planning events in the community.

Key tools offered by WRED include the newly released 2025 Community Profile, which provides valuable data on Weyburn’s economy, key industries, and infrastructure. Also available is the Host Your Event in Weyburn guide, a resource for event organizers detailing local venues, services, and accommodations. For newcomers, the New Resident’s Guide is designed to help individuals and families settle in the community with ease.

These or can be picked up in person at the WRED office, located at 11 - 3rd Street NE.
