It's new. It's innovative. It's exciting, too.

The Winter Light Committee and Volunteers have been busy taking down the Christmas lights and displays this past weekend. It was a little more difficult this year to find space to store some of the larger displays.

With the weather being so nice outside, the Calder Poker Derby had 118 riders go through the derby this year. There were a lot of good comments about the trail this year.

The Knox United Church has decided not to have a basement/yard sale this year. There will be a Memorial Service for past loved ones June 5th at 10:10 a.m. at the United Church. Please let family and friends know.

The Bredenbury Knox United Church held a Joint Service in Bredenbury on Sunday, March 27 at 10:00 a.m. Upcoming Services: Good Friday - April 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m in Saltcoats. Good Friday - April 22, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. in Langenburg.

Laketown Leaders invited anyone (all ages) to a monthly birthday. The March cake day was held on Monday the 29th at 3:00 p.m. in the Stirling room.

Congratulations to Dorothy Leppington on her 90th birthday. Dorothy is now a resident of Yorkton and District Nursing Home and is a former resident of Bredenbury. Congratulations to Bredenbury Cougars on a great game both Thursday and Saturday.

A fundraiser Bake Sale was held for Manny & Effie Silveira on Sat., March 12 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Saltcoats Stirling Room. This is sponsored by Laketown Leaders to assist after the fire at Prairie Cricket Antiques recently.

Congratulations to Lucy Issel on the birth of another great-grandson, Dylan Aaron Krieger, born to Sheldon and Kari Krieger of Melville. Sheldon is the son of Ernie and Marlene (Issel) Krieger of Neudorf.

Once again the Calder Community Hall was filled with families, friends, visitors and our community for the Calder School's Annual Christmas Concert. The Calder students and staff did a wonderful Christmas Concert this year.
