Two adults and three youths charged in series of thefts

All five accused made their first appearances in court on May 20.

REGINA – On the afternoon of May 18 five males - two adults and three youth - were allegedly involved in a series of thefts and robberies at multiple locations in Regina.

At approximately 2:10 p.m., the group entered a retail business in the 3900 block of Rochdale Boulevard. One of the males damaged a merchandise display cabinet, and the group stole merchandise before fleeing the store.

Around 3:10 p.m., the same group entered another store in the 2200 block of East Victoria Avenue, took merchandise, and left without paying.

Later that same day, they entered a third store in the 4400 block of Rochdale Boulevard, where another merchandise cabinet was damaged and more items were stolen.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., police received a report of a robbery in the 3000 block of Bellegarde Crescent. A group of males arrived in a vehicle. One of the males exited the vehicle and met with the victim after connecting via a social media marketplace and agreeing to purchase a cell phone. The suspect asked to see the merchandise, and when the victim handed it him, the suspect ran off with it.

Then at 7:10 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Park Street for a reported robbery. The 22-year-old male victim had arranged via a social media marketplace to sell their cell phone. The same group of young males arrived, took the cell phone and fled without paying.

At approximately 8:35 p.m., police located the five suspects at a retail store on Gordon Road, where they were arrested. A search of their vehicle uncovered stolen merchandise believed to be connected to the above incidents.

Police charged 18-year-old Milaad Draz and 18-year-old Eyob Gebreegiabher, both of Saskatoon, are jointly charged with three counts of robbery, two counts of theft under $5,000, and possession of property over $5,000 obtained by crime.

The three youths – a 17-year-old and two 16-year-olds, all from Saskatoon – are jointly charged with three counts of robbery, two counts of theft under, and possession of property over $5,000 obtained by crime.

All five accused made their first appearances in court on May 20, 2025.
